No. 4 Volleyball bounces back with 3-1 win at Florida

AUSTIN, Texas. — The No. 4 Texas Volleyball team (19-2, 9-2 SEC) snapped its two-game losing streak with the 3-1 (29-31, 25-18, 25-19, 25-19) win over Florida. The Longhorns have now won seven of their last 11 matches against the Gators and back-to-back on the road.
Senior Ella Swindle notched her 2000th career assist in the win and finished the night with 31 and seven digs. Junior Torrey Stafford led the Longhorns with 21 kills and eight digs, marking her fifth time this season with at least 20 kills. Off 52 wins, she finished with just three errors and hit .346. Freshman Cari Spears registered her sixth-straight game with double-digit kills with 13 kills along with three digs while hitting .333. Senior Whitney Lauenstein stepped up and totaled six kills and two blocks during the final two sets of the match with a .545 hitting percentage.
The Longhorns outhit the Gators with 62 kills and handed them their third-lowest hitting percentage of the season at .164 with 55 kills. Texas forced 30 total errors while only committing 15 themselves.
Set One: The Longhorns dropped the long first set 29-31. Swindle reached her career 2000th assists in the opening set of the match, finishing with 12 assists and five digs. The Texas offense totaled 17 kills, while Emma Halter registered five digs.
Set Two: Texas utilized a 6-0 run to take set two, 25-18, against the Gators. The Longhorns limited Florida's offense to a .219 hitting percentage, while hitting .344 themselves. Stafford led the charge with six kills and hit .462.
Set Three: The Longhorns took the third set 25-19. Texas totaled 16 kills while holding the Gators offense to a .177 hitting percentage and ten kills. Swindle and Rella Binney combined for 14 assists, while Emma Halter registered six digs in the set three.
Set Four: Texas won the final set of the match, 25-19, ending its two-game losing streak. The Longhorns offense hit .483 with 15 kills, leading by Stafford, who totaled eight while hitting .533. Texas defense held the Gators to a .083 hitting percentage and forced eight errors.
The Longhorns finished the night with seven blocks led by Ayden Ames with four and Nya Bunton's three.
Texas will travel to face off against Auburn for its final road trip of the regular season on Wednesday, Nov. 12 at 6:00 p.m. CT on SEC Network+.
