Texas Football’s 2026 conference slate was revealed by the Southeastern Conference on Thursday night to round out the Longhorns’ full schedule for next season.
AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Football's 2026 Southeastern Conference schedule was announced by the league on Thursday night to round out the Longhorns' full schedule for next season.
The overall slate features nine games inside the state's borders, including seven at home at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. The Longhorns have four true road contests, beginning with their SEC opener at Tennessee on Sept. 26.
The game against the Volunteers will mark the Longhorns' first trip to Neyland Stadium. In a series that dates back to 1951, Texas and Tennessee will play each other for the fourth time overall and first time since the 1969 Cotton Bowl. Texas holds the all-time series advantage, 2-1, with all three of the prior meetings between the teams taking place at the Cotton Bowl.
Following that, the Longhorns will have a bye week before traveling to Dallas for the Allstate Red River Rivalry vs. Oklahoma on Oct. 10 at the Cotton Bowl. That will mark the 123rd meeting between the two programs with Texas boasting a 65-51-5 all-time series edge over the Sooners.
Texas will then return to the friendly confines of DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium to host three consecutive home games against the Florida Gators on Oct. 17, the Ole Miss Rebels on Oct. 24 and the Mississippi State Bulldogs on Oct. 31.
Texas and Florida will clash for the sixth time in history and for the third-straight season. The Horns lead the all-time series over the Gators, 3-1-1, while sporting a 2-0-1 mark at home. Texas and Ole Miss will square off for the ninth time in history and first time as SEC members as the Rebels will be making their first trip to Austin since 2013. Texas leads that all-time series, 6-2. The Longhorns then play host to Mississippi State, as the teams will meet for the sixth time overall with UT leading the series, 3-2. It will be the third conference contest between them with Texas winning in Austin in 2024 and in Starkville last season.
Texas will play three of its last four regular season games on the road in 2026 beginning with a trip to Columbia, Mo., to battle the Missouri Tigers on Nov. 7. Texas and Missouri will meet for the 25th time and first time since 2017 with UT leading the all-time series, 18-6, including a 7-4 record on the road. Texas last went up against Missouri in Columbia in 2011 when both were members of the Big 12 Conference.
The Longhorns continue on the road and travel to LSU to take on the Tigers on Nov. 14 in Tiger Stadium. Texas and LSU will meet for the 19th time and first time since 2019 with UT holding a 9-8-1 series edge. It will be Texas' first trip to Baton Rouge since 1953.
The Longhorns will then return to Austin on Nov. 21 to host longtime rival Arkansas for the second-straight season at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium. It will be their 82nd all-time meeting with the Horns leading the all-time series, 58-23, dating back to 1894. That includes a 30-11 mark at home against the Razorbacks.
Texas will wrap up the regular season against Texas A&M at Kyle Field in College Station on Friday, Nov. 27 for the Cotton Holdings Lone Star Showdown. The Longhorns hold an all-time series lead over the Aggies, 78-37-5, with a 26-22-2 record at Kyle Field.
Texas will open the 2026 campaign with three consecutive previously announced nonconference games at home, beginning with its season opener vs. Texas State on Sept. 5, followed by Ohio State on Sept. 12 and UTSA on Sept. 19.
Texas and Texas State have played just once before – in 1930 when the school was named Southwest Texas State Teachers College. The Longhorns won that game in Austin, 36-0. Texas and Ohio State will meet for the sixth time and for the third-straight season. The two teams will clash in DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium for just the second time in history and the first since 2006 when the Buckeyes won, 24-7. Following the Buckeyes, Texas will welcome UTSA to Austin on Sept. 19 to close out the nonconference schedule. Texas and UTSA are set to face each other for the third time in the last five seasons with the Longhorns sporting a 2-0 series lead.
