2025 Summit League Midfielder of the Year has appeared in 43 career matches over the last three seasons at Denver
AUSTIN, Texas — Hannah Tate has signed an Athletic Scholarship Agreement (ASA) to play soccer at The University of Texas, head coach Margueritte Bates announced Tuesday morning.
Tate, who spent the last four years at Denver University, will join the Longhorns for the upcoming 2026 campaign. She has one year of collegiate eligibility remaining.
"Hannah has proven herself to be one of the most dynamic and versatile players in the country," Bates said. "Her experienced presence exudes maturity and joyfulness on the field. We cannot wait to welcome her to The Forty Acres!"
A native of Omaha, Neb., Tate has appeared in 43 career matches, drawing 37 starts. The 5-foot-9 midfielder has registered five goals and two assists across 3,034 minutes.
During her redshirt junior season at Denver, Tate was named the 2025 Summit League Midfielder of the Year and earned a spot on the United Soccer Coaches All-West Region First Team.
She started all 15 contests she played in, logging the full 90 minutes all but once.
Tate scored a co-league best two game-winning goals, delivering tallies at North Dakota on Sept. 25 and against South Dakota on Oct. 26. She also added an assist on an 88th-minute equalizer at St. Thomas on Oct. 16.
The All-Summit League First Team selection ranked top five on the club in shots (16), shots on goal (seven) and minutes (1,338), despite missing three matches due to injury.
As a redshirt sophomore in 2024, Tate appeared in all 19 tilts and made 16 starts, totaling 1,127 minutes.
Tate scored three goals, including the game-winner at South Dakota in the regular season finale on Oct. 27.
Overall, she mounted seven points, garnering All-Summit League Second Team honors.
A graduate of Marian High School, Tate debuted in 2023 after redshirting her true freshman campaign a year prior.
She played in nine contests, earning starts in the last seven matches. Tate recorded 569 minutes, going the distance in each of the final six affairs.
Tate played club soccer for Sporting Nebraska FC in the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL).
