No. 7/19 Track and Field's Jess posts fifth-fastest 3K time in school history

Longhorns close Razorback Invitational led by performances in women's distance.
AUSTIN, Texas – The No. 7/19 Texas Track and Field middle distance and distance programs competed at the Razorback Invitational at the Randal Tyson Center over the weekend.
Eva Jess moved to No. 5 on the UT All-Time performer list in the women's 3000-meter with her time of 9:10.72. It's also the fifth-fastest time ever recorded by a Longhorn. Elizabeth Pickett finished 10th with her time of 9:22.58.
Brighton Mooney finished with a personal best of 8:38.97, with freshman Sydni Wilkins close behind at 9:40.36. Natasja Beijen registered a personal best with a time of 9:53.07, while Aishling Callanan finished just behind in 9:54.94. Haley Harper finished in 10:00.68.
The Longhorn women produced three season bests in the 800-meter invitational, led by sophomore Mackenize Browne's time of 2:08.65. Senior Amity Ebarb finished 11th in 2:11.78, while freshman Grace Kowalski was 12th in 2:13.66.
In the open women 800m, Gia Kurp finished with a personal best time of 2:13.24.
The men's 800m was led by Daniel Howells' time of 1:49.65 that finished 20th overall. Drew Weber was the next to finish in 1:52.59, followed by Evan MacGregor (1:53.39), Luis Pastor (1:53.59) and Zain Hamdani (2:02.46).
Five men later competed in the mile and were led by Weber who finished in 4:10.44. Hamdani (4:13.13), EJ Rush (4:13.26), Patete (4:13.88) and MacGregor (4:22.25) closed out the Longhorn competitors.
Freshman Kaylin Rendon won her heat of the mile and finished with a personal best time of 4:54.22, while grad transfer Elizabeth Stockman finished in 5:00.46.
Texas Ex Cruz Gomez won the men's 3000-meter with a time of 7:46.35, while Isaac Alonzo opened his indoor season finishing eighth in 8:03.69. Nathanael Berhane finished 10th with a personal best time of 8:06.44. Trey Rios (8:11.57) and Nigusom Knight (8:12.94) also recorded PBs, while Hudson Heikkinen finished with a season best 8:16.89. Jack Boyd (8:22.87) and Hudson Bennett (8:25.83) rounded out the final runners for UT.
