No. 14/NR Men’s and Women’s Track and Field returns to Albuquerque for New Mexico Classic

Longhorn sprinters, jumpers and throwers return to New Mexico for the final time this season.
AUSTIN, Texas - The No. 14/NR Texas track and field program return to the Albuquerque Convention Center for the New Mexico Classic for a two-day meet.
For the fourth weekend in a row, part of the Texas track and field will be on the road for another indoor meet. The Convention Center will host another two-day meet with the likes of No. 7/3 Texas Tech, NR/22 TCU, NR/ 21 LSU, No. 23/NR Iowa, No. 3/25 USC, No. 9/4 Illinois, NR/7 Stanford, No. 19/NR Arizona State, No. 18/NR Cal, and No. 20/24 New Mexico.
This year's Collegiate Classic will also feature team scoring.

NOTES:
- The men are ranked for the second-straight week but fell seven spots to No. 14.
- Kelsey Daniel still leads the country in the men's long jump with his mark of 8.03m (26-4.25). He moved to No. 2 on the UT All-Time Performer List the last time the Longhorns visited Fayetteville.
- The women are led by the 4x400-meter relay that holds the 10th-fastest time in the NCAA this year at 3:32.34. Akala Garrett also holds the 11th-fastest 400-meter time of 52.35 in the NCAA in her first career 400-meter dash.
- Eva Jess moved to No. 5 on the UT All-Time Performer List in the 3000-meter at the Razorback Invitational when she dropped 11 seconds from her prior personal best set two weekends prior.
- Preston Pilgrim and Nabil Tezkratt will be making their UT debut this weekend, while Sasha Harber and Micayah Holland are making their season debuts.

All parking for regular season indoor meets is controlled and operated by the City of Albuquerque. There is a parking garage located adjacent to the Convention Center. Lastly, street parking is also available.
