No. 1 Men’s Swim and Dive to open SEC Championships on Tuesday

The Longhorns will compete in the 2025 SEC Championships on Feb. 18-22 in Athens, Ga.
AUSTIN, Texas – The No. 1 Texas Men's Swimming and Diving program will compete at the 2025 SEC Championships on Feb. 18-22 at the University of Georgia in Athens, Ga.

- 9 a.m. – Time trials (prelims)
- 11 a.m. – Men's 3-meter (prelims)

Texas Men's Swim and Dive kicks off the SEC Championships at 11 a.m. CT Tuesday with the 3-meter prelims followed by the 3-meter consolation finals at 1:10 p.m. and a finals session, beginning at 4 p.m., for the 200 medley relay, 3-meter and 800 freestyle relay.
Conference Championship History
- Texas has won 45-consecutive conference championships, including 28-straight as Big 12 members. All 45 conference crowns came under former head coach Eddie Reese.
- The current streak of 45 conference championships in a row dates back to the 1980 Southwest Conference Championship.
- All told, the Longhorns have recorded a total of 66 conference titles (38 Southwest Conference, 28 Big 12 Conference).
- In 2024 Will Modglin earned the Big 12 Championship's Swimmer of the Meet, former Longhorn Noah Deperre was named Diver of the Meet and Nate Germonprez was tabbed the Newcomer of the Meet.

Last Time Out
- The Horns dominated No. 17 Texas A&M, 218.5-80.5, on Jan. 31 to conclude the regular season 8-0 in dual meets.
- Nick Harris (379.35 ) and Jacob Jones (371.93) finished in first and second on the 1-meter. Luke Forester finished in second from the 3-meter with a score of 378.90, while Nick Harris posted a score of 372.45 to sit in fourth.
Notes
- The Longhorns concluded the regular season 8-0 in dual meets.
- Texas finished the Eddie Reese Texas Showdown on Jan. 24-25 with three top-25 victories, including a 193-159 win vs. No. 4 Arizona State, a 244.5-107.5 win over No. 6 NC State and a crushing 272-80 win against No. 18 Virginia.
- Rex Maurer leads both Texas and the NCAA in the 500 (4:04.45) and the 400 IM (3:34.19). He has recorded the second-fastest time in the country in the 1650 free (14:30.47). In addition, Texas' David Johnston has registered the second-fastest time nationally behind Maurer in the 500 free, clocking in at 4:09.41.
- Texas also added 2024 Olympian Chris Guiliano to the team who broke into the UT all-time top performer list in both the 50 free (19.04) and the 100 free (41.89) in his first meet as a Longhorn vs. SMU on Jan. 10.
- Johnston leads the NCAA in the 1,000 free (8:39.25).
- Will Modglin paces the country in the 100 back (43.91) and 200 back (1:37.84).
- Hubert Kos leads the NCAA in the 200 IM (1:40.51).
- Texas also leads the nation in the 800 free relay (6:09.30).
