No. 1 Men’s Swim and Dive’s Germonprez rewrites 100 breaststroke school record, Horns earn four medals on day four of SEC Championships

Texas maintains its lead heading into the final day of the 2025 SEC Championships.
ATHENS, Ga. – No. 1 Texas Men's Swim and Dive's Nate Germonprez destroyed his own school record in the 100 breaststroke to collect silver and the Horns added four medals Friday night at Gabrielsen Natatorium. Texas has chalked up 1,091 total points to remain in the lead heading into the final day of the SEC Championships Saturday.
Behind Texas sits second-place Florida with 929 points followed by Tennessee (3rd-713.5), Georgia (4th-642.5), Texas A&M (5th-503), Auburn (6th-427.5), Alabama (7th-425), LSU (8th-413), Kentucky (9th-320.5), Missouri (10th-251) and South Carolina (11th-250).
Ryan Branon started the night with a seventh-place finish in the 200 fly after touching the wall in 1:41.64.
Two Longhorns earned podium finishes in the 100 back with Hubert Kos finishing runner-up at 44.03 and Will Modglin placing third at 44.22. It's Kos' fourth medal of the week and Modglin's fifth.

Germonprez shattered his own school record in the 100 breast after throwing down a 50.14 to claim second. The Omaha, Neb., native's previous school record of 50.39 was set at the 2024 Texas Invitational. It's Germonprez's second medal of the meet after helping Texas' 200 medley relay team clinch a third-place finish on Tuesday.
The 400 medley relay team of Modglin, Germonprez, Kos, and Luke Hobson received a spot on the podium with a third-place finish at 3:00.97. It marked Hobson's third medal of the conference championship.
