No. 2 Women’s Diving’s Hernandez, Estudillo Torres take top two spots in 1-meter to qualify for NCAAs

Senior Hailey Hernandez won the 1-meter and freshman Alejandra Estudillo Torres finished runner-up as the duo qualified for the event at the 2025 NCAA Championships.
IOWA CITY, Iowa – No. 2 Texas Women's Dive's Hailey Hernandez was victorious in the 1-meter and freshman Alejandra Estudillo Torres finished runner-up as the duo qualified for the NCAA Championships in the event Tuesday afternoon at the CRWC.
The Longhorns once again paced the field with five student-athletes participating in Tuesday's 1-meter final.
Hernandez finished on top with a final score of 624.60 while Estudillo Torres finished right behind her after compiling a final score of 615.15. Sophomore Bayleigh Cranford narrowly missed the qualifying benchmark after placing 12th with 574.30 points but will be able to enter the event at the national meet since she qualified for the 3-meter dive on Monday. Freshman Taylor Fox notched a 13th-place finish with 573.10 points and sophomore Amanda Stalfort added a 16th-place finish with 558.25 points. With Hernandez taking home the victory in the 1-meter, she will also be able to enter the 3-meter at the NCAA Championships since she finished inside the top-12 in the dive on Monday.
Overall, three Longhorns (Estudillo Torres, Hernandez and Cranford) have qualified for the NCAA Championships through two events.
The NCAA Zone D Diving Championships continue at Noon CT Wednesday with the platform prelims followed by finals beginning at 2 p.m.
