No. 2 Women’s Diving preview: NCAA Zone D Diving Championships

The Longhorns trek to Iowa City, Iowa, on March 10-12 for NCAA Championships qualifiers.
AUSTIN, Texas – The Texas Men's and Women's Divers are set to compete at the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships on March 10-12 at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa – one of five zone meets held across the country this week. Divers compete in their respective zone meet to earn bids to the 2025 NCAA Championships.
Action begins at Noon CT each day and can be streamed here. Live results throughout the week will be made available here.

Men's SEC Championship Recap
The Texas divers had an enormous week, tallying an SEC-best 174 total points through three events at the SEC Championships on Feb. 18-22 in Athens, Ga., to help secure an SEC title and win 46-straight conference titles across three leagues, dating back to the 1980 Southwest Conference championship.
The Longhorns opened the diving portion at the SEC Championships on Feb. 18 with the 3-meter. Forester placed seventh in the A Final with a score of 338.30. In the B Final, Harris tallied a first-place finish and ninth overall with a score of 321.75. Jones also finished 13th overall and fifth in the B Final (346.70).
In the 1-meter final on Feb. 20, the Horns earned two podium finishes with Harris bringing home silver (392.5) and Jones receiving bronze after amassing a season-high 384.05 total points.
In the second-to-last event of the week on Feb. 22, Welsh tied for fifth in the men's platform after divvying up 392.20 total points.
Women's SEC Championship Recap
The women's divers had a stellar showing all at the SEC Championships on Feb. 17-22, recording an SEC-best 335 total points through three events to help guide UT to a conference title for the 13th-straight year. The 335 points by the divers are also an SEC Meet record. That's 217 more total points than Texas A&M, who tallied the second-most points from diving at 118. Senior Hailey Hernandez collected a pair of bronze medals in the 1 and 3-meter while true freshman Alejandra Estudillo Torres took home a pair of silver medals in the 3-meter and platform. Estudillo Torres' 81 points were the most of any SEC diver competing at the conference meet.
Hernandez kicked off the meet earning a spot on the podium in the 1-meter on Feb. 17, posting a final score of 316.20 to finish third. Texas also took the next two spots in the event Kupka finishing in fourth with a final score of 297.00 and Estudillo Torres claiming fifth with a final score of 289.70.
On Feb. 19, the Horns advanced an SEC-best four Longhorns to the 3-meter final with Estudillo Torres finishing runner-up with a final score of 369.50. to earn her first SEC medal and Hernandez finishing third with a score of 335.05, increasing her medal count to two on the week. Cranford finished fourth (331.80) and Kupka placed eighth (304.5), respectively.
The freshmen diving duo of Fox and Estudillo Torres represented the Horns in the platform finals on Feb. 21. Estudillo Torres clinched her second silver of the week after racking up 318.10 total points, just 9.7 points shy of LSU's Lavenant. Fox placed seventh with 259 total points.
