Men’s Swimming and Diving’s Carrozza, Hobson earn CSC Academic All-America Second Team honors

Carrozza is a repeat Academic All-America selection, while Hobson receives his first honor.
AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Men's Swimming and Diving seniors Coby Carrozza and Luke Hobson were placed on the College Sports Communicator's (CSC) Academic All-America Second Team, the organization announced Wednesday.
Carrozza is a repeat selection after landing on the 2024 CSC Academic All-America First Team. It's Hobson's first career CSC Academic All-America selection.
Carrozza, who received Second-Team All-SEC praise, was an important component in Texas' 800 free relay team's runner-up finish after demolishing the school record and establishing a new American record in 6:00.08 to commence the 2025 NCAA Championships. The Austin, Texas, product also recorded a 14th-place finish in the 500 free at NCAAs.
Hobson, a First-Team All-SEC performer this season, shattered his own NCAA, American and school record in the 200 free after capturing the NCAA title in the event in 1:28.33. In the 500 free, Hobson finished runner-up in a personal-best time (4:06.34) and allowed Texas to finish 1-2 in the event as sophomore Rex Maurer won the NCAA Championship. He helped the Horns lower the school record in the 400 medley relay, combining to go 2:58.95, and finish runner-up. He was a critical piece in Texas' 800 free relay team's runner-up finish after demolishing the school record and establishing a new American record in 6:00.08 to open up the national meet. An integral part in the Texas 200 free relay team, he powered the Longhorns to a sixth-place finish in 1:14.66. The Reno, Nev., native helped Texas solidify its 2025 NCAA National Championship after tying the 400 free school record in 2:45.12 to finish seventh. He also finished ninth in the 100 free in 41.31.
