No. 7 Beach Volleyball earns seven CCSA yearly honors

Longhorns dominate conference awards, including Coach of the Year.
AUSTIN, Texas - No. 7 Texas Beach Volleyball dominated its first season in the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) earning seven All-Conference honors, including Coach of the Year.
Four Longhorns were named to the CCSA All-Conference team - the No. 3 pair of Maddison Parmelly and Karin Zolnercikova and the No. 2 pairing of Katie Hashman and Emma Grace Robertson.
The two's pair of Parmelly and Zolnercikova boast the Longhorns top record at 25-6 and ended the season on a 12-match win streak. The pair enter the CCSA Championships with a 3-1 record in conference play and recorded 13 wins against ranked opponents, eight of which were in the top 10. The pair also earned CCSA Pair of the Week honors following an undefeated performance at the FSU Unconquered Invitational, sweeping three conference opponents.
Hashman and Robertson posted a 21-12 overall record and a 2-2 record in conference play for the Longhorns. Starting the season 6-3 on court one, the pair used their momentum to defeat 11 ranked opponents on court two. Defeating #10 LSU and South Carolina, Hashman and Robertson helped complete the sweeps at the FSU Unconquered Invitational.
Freshmen Eva Liisa Kuivonen and Noah Sonneville were named to the CCSA All-Freshman Team. Kuivonen posted a 16-13 overall record and began her season dominating court two, going undefeated in the first two invitationals alongside partner, Chloe Charles. The pair later moved to court one and defeated seven ranked opponents. Kuivonen received CCSA Pair of the Week honors on March 25, alongside Charles, after defeating #11 ASU.
A freshman from Zoetermeer, Netherlands, Sonneville holds a 21-10 overall record and a 3-1 record in conference play alongside her partner, Macey Butler. Sonneville holds the second-best record for the Longhorns, including 11 ranked wins on court four.
Head coach Stein Metzger was also named Co-CCSA Coach of the Year after leading the Longhorns to 24-9 overall record in just his second season at the helm of Texas. With a strong competitive opponent lineup made up of 20 ranked opponents, Metzger led the Longhorns to 11 ranked wins, a 10-2 home record and saw his team go undefeated in three invitationals.
