Reese Atwood, Teagan Kavan, Mia Scott earn second All-American honors of the 2025 season
AUSTIN, Texas – For the second consecutive week, a trio of student-athletes from the Texas Longhorn softball program have been selected as All-Americans as D1Softball announced Tuesday morning that Reese Atwood (First Team), Teagan Kavan (Second Team) and Mia Scott (Second Team) had earn the honors.
Atwood became the only Texas softball student-athlete with 20-or-more home runs in back-to-back seasons as the Longhorns junior catcher has a team-high 21 long balls in 173 official plate appearances. She'll enter her next game with 85 RBI, which is five shy of tying her own program single season RBI (90) set just last season.
Scott leads the team with a .438 batting average and is third on the squad with 123 total bases as a result of 77 base hits throughout the season. Her 18 doubles are a team high and is one of four Longhorn softball student-athletes with 55-or-more RBI this season. Her 77 base hits rank sixth on the program's single season hit list.
Kavan, like Scott, is also climbing a Texas single season leaderboard as the Longhorns' sophomore right-handed pitcher is tied for 10th on the program's single season wins list with 24. She has a team-low 2.56 earned run average (ERA) with 212 strikeouts to just 48 walks allowed in 175,.1 innings pitched.
Last week, Softball America appointed Atwood to its First Team All-American list, while selecting Scott and Kavan to its Second Team All-American squad.
