Joley Mitchell becomes first player in program history named to the SEC Softball Community Service Team.
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Texas graduate student Joley Mitchell has been named to the Southeastern Conference's Softball Community Service Team, the league announced Tuesday morning. The conference's Community Service Team looks to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to their community in superior service efforts.
Since arriving on the Forty Acres, Mitchell, a two-year Longhorn from Rose Bud, Ark., has worked with various organizations in the local community. She has assisted the 4EVER TEXAS organization with its Trail of Tricks and Treats and Adopt-A-Family programs, while also lending a hand to the Oak Springs Elementary Fall Festival and the Austin Boys and Girls Club's Cal Ripken Sr., Foundation Clinic.
Mitchell also spent time helping the Special Forces Charitable Trust with its Great American Shootout as well as the Military Warriors Foundation. In 2024, she aided the Blank Center for Stuttering with Camp Dream. Speak. Live., an annual, week-long summer camp offered to children and adolescents who stutter in multiple locations around the world.
In addition to both her charitable efforts and on-the-field success, Mitchell has also been named an NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete.
