Softball’s Stewart lands on CSC Academic All-America Second Team

Katie Stewart was named to the College Sports Communicator’s Academic All-America Second Team.
AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Softball sophomore utility player Katie Stewart was named a Second-Team Academic All-American by the College Sports Communicators (CSC), the organization announced Tuesday.
The Frankfort, Ill., product became just the sixth player in program history to garner Academic All-America recognition and the first since Lexy Bennett was placed on the Academic All-America Third-Team in 2012.
Stewart was instrumental in Texas winning the program's first NCAA National Championship on June 6. A Corporate Communication major, Stewart has stood out both on the field and in the classroom for the Longhorns, boasting a 3.68 cumulative GPA during her two years on the Forty Acres. As a freshman in 2024, she was named to the Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team and lauded as an NFCA All-America Scholar Athlete. She was also tabbed a Freshman All-American by D1Softball and Softball America in addition to landing on the Women's College World Series All-Tournament Team, All-Big 12 Second Team and All-Big 12 Freshman Team.
Stewart hauled in plethora of honors in 2025, including earning a spot on the Women's College World Series All-Tournament Team in addition to being named to the NFCA All-Central First-Team and All-SEC Second Team.
Starting in all 68 games in 2025 and guiding the Longhorns to a national title, she slashed .381/.711/.455 with 75 hits, 17 home runs, 80 RBI and 54 runs scored, ranking second on the squad in doubles (14), home runs (17), RBI (80) and total bases (140). She also reached base 30 times via walk or hit by pitch.
Behind Stewart's power at the plate, Texas sported one of the nation's best offenses. The Longhorns capped the 2025 campaign leading the nation in hits (630) while sitting second in RBI (460), and third in both batting average (.352) and total runs (486). The Horns also ranked inside the country's top-10 in home runs (9th-94), doubles (9th-99) and slugging percentage (10th-0.583).
