Football places 13 on Preseason All-SEC Team, predicted to win 2025 SEC Championship

Quintrevion Wisner, DJ Campbell, Colin Simmons, Anthony Hill Jr. and Michael Taaffe were selected to the Preseason All-SEC First-Team.
AUSTIN, Texas – Thirteen Texas Football players, highlighted by five First-Team selections, were named to the Preseason All-SEC Team at the 2025 SEC Media Days, the conference office announced Friday.
In addition, Texas has been predicted to win the 2025 SEC Championship, according to a preseason poll of media covering SEC Football Media Days. The Longhorns compiled 96 votes to win the SEC Championship on Dec. 5 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. Georgia was picked to be Texas' opponent in a rematch of the 2024 SEC Championship Game. Georgia received 44 votes to win the SEC Championship followed by Alabama (29), LSU (20), South Carolina (5), Oklahoma (3), Vanderbilt (2), Florida (2), Tennessee (1), Ole Miss (1) and Auburn (1).
Junior running back Quintrevion Wisner, senior offensive lineman DJ Campbell, sophomore EDGE Colin Simmons, junior linebacker Anthony Hill Jr. and senior defensive back Michael Taaffe were selected to the Preseason All-SEC First-Team. Sophomore wide receiver Ryan Wingo, junior defensive back Malik Muhammad and senior punter Jack Bouwmeester landed on the Second-Team, while sophomore quarterback Arch Manning, junior tight end Jack Endries, sophomore offensive lineman Trevor Goosby, senior linebacker Trey Moore and senior kickoff specialist Will Stone garnered Third-Team honors.
It marks the second-consecutive year Hill Jr., Muhammad, Moore and Stone received Preseason All-SEC recognition. Last year, Hill Jr., Muhammad and Stone were placed on the Second-Team, while Moore earned a Third-Team nod. Hill (Second-Team) and Wisner (Third-Team), the SEC's top returning rusher with 1,064 yards, earned spots on last year's All-SEC postseason squads, as well.
Texas opens the 2025 campaign on the road at Ohio State at 11 a.m. CT Saturday, Aug. 30, inside Ohio Stadium in Columbus, Ohio. The game will broadcast as part of FOX's Big Noon Kickoff, and ESPN's College GameDay will broadcast live from the Ohio State University campus. College GameDay will air for three hours from 8-11 a.m. CT, hosted by Rece Davis, Lee Corso, Desmond Howard, Pat McAffee, Nick Saban, Kirk Herbstreit and other ESPN personalities. It will be the final show for longtime ESPN personality Lee Corso as he is set to retire following Week 1 of the 2025 season.
