Women’s Golf’s Hsu wins LNGA Amateur Championship

Cindy Hsu won the tournament by six shots with a 12-under-par score.
DUPONT, Wash. — Texas women's golf senior Cindy Hsu carded back-to-back rounds of 67 and captured the Ladies National Golf Association Amateur Championship by six shots on Thursday at The Home Course.
Hsu birdied two of her last three holes in the final round and had five total birdies in the round. Hsu went without a bogey over her final 39 holes. That streak started with birdies on 16, 17, and 18 in her first round. Over those final 39 holes she made 13 birdies and no bogeys.
Following a 5-under 67 in the second round, Hsu held a two-stroke lead going into the final round of the championship.
Former Texas women's golfer Bentley Cotton finished T4 in the event with a score of 5-under-par for the tournament.
Hsu will compete at the U.S. Women's Amateur Championship Aug. 4-10 at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in Bandon, Ore.
