Women’s Golf’s Farah O’Keefe named SEC Player of the Year

Farah O’Keefe, Cindy Hsu and Lauren Kim earn First Team All-SEC honors.
AUSTIN, Texas — Texas women's golf junior Farah O'Keefe has been named the 2026 SEC Player of the Year and she is joined on the First Team All-SEC by teammates Cindy Hsu and Lauren Kim. The Southeastern Conference announced the awards today after a vote by the league's head coaches.
This is the second conference Player of the Year award for O'Keefe as she earned Big 12 Player of the Year in 2024 as a freshman.
Ranked No. 4 on the World Amateur Golf Rankings list, O'Keefe has three tournament victories and has finished in the top-10 in each of her 10 college tournaments. O'Keefe has finished in the top-three in each of her last four collegiate events. O'Keefe was part of Team USA winning the World Amateur Team Championship in October and recently competed for the third time in the Augusta National Women's Amateur. Last week O'Keefe was the low amateur in at the LPGA major championship, the Chevron Championship along with Yunseo Yang from Korea. Through 54 holes of the championship O'Keefe was T6 on the leaderboard at 7-under. O'Keefe finished T2 at the SEC Championship.
Kim, who is ranked No. 15 on the World Amateur Golf Rankings list has finished in the top-10 in three of her last four events and a T12 finish at the SEC Championship. Kim was the runner-up at the Charles Schwab Women's Collegiate and finished in seventh place at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate to help the Longhorns will that team title. Kim recently competed in the Augusta National Women's Amateur for the third time and represented Canada in the Palmer Cup and World Amateur Team Championship last year.
Cindy Hsu is ranked No. 27 on the World Amateur Golf Rankings list and finished in 11th place at the 2026 SEC Championship. Hsu earned her first collegiate victory in the fall at the Nanea Invitational with a tournament score of 10-under. Hsu has three top-five finishes on the season as she finished runner-up at the Betsy Rawls Invitational and in third place at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge. Hsu competed at the Augusta National Women's Amateur and the World Amateur Team Championship.
The Longhorns will compete May 11-13 in the NCAA Regional Championships in Chapel Hill, N.C.
