No. 5 Women’s Golf’s Laura Ianello named to WGCA National Coach of the Year Watch List

Ianello has led Texas to five wins in her two seasons at Texas.
AUSTIN, Texas — Texas women's golf head coach Laura Ianello has been named to the Division I Jackie Steinmann Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) National Coach of the Year Watch List, the organization announced today.
In the 2025-26 season Ianello has led Texas to a pair of victories, the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate and the Betsy Rawls Invitational. The Longhorns finished as the second best team in the stroke play portion of the SEC Championship.
Farah O'Keefe was named the SEC Golfer of the Year and O'Keefe, Lauren Kim and Cindy Hsu all earned spots on the All-SEC First Team.
Ianello has been named a Co-Head Coach for Team USA for the upcoming Arnold Palmer Cup, which will take place July 3-5 at Tralee Golf Links in West Barrow, Ireland.
In her first season in Austin, Ianello led Texas to three tournament wins and back to the NCAA Championship for the 33rd time in program history. The Longhorns have the third longest active streak of advancing to the NCAA Championship as they have made it 10 straight years.
The Longhorns will compete in the NCAA Chapel Hill Regional May 11-13.
