Five from Women’s Golf selected for World Amateur Team Championships

AUSTIN, Texas — The Texas women's golf team has five players that have been selected to represent their native countries at the World Amateur Team Championships in Singapore Oct. 1-4.
Farah O'Keefe (USA), Lauren Kim (Canada), Cindy Hsu and Selina Liao (Taiwan) and Vivian Lu (New Zealand) will participate in the event at the Tanah Merah Country Club in Singapore.
The Longhorns five players represents the most by any women's collegiate program in the event.
Cindy Hsu has experience at the World Amateur Team Championship and was the individual medalist in 2023 during her sophomore season at Texas.
O'Keefe is currently ranked No. 7 on the World Amateur Golf Rankings. O'Keefe, who finished T36 at the U.S. Women's Open and runner-up at the British Amateur Championship, finished runner-up at the SEC Championship with a score of 5-under-par and finished runner-up at the NCAA Lubbbock Regional. O'Keefe recorded eight top-10 finishes for the 2024-25 season and six top-five finishes. In addition to her collegiate team events, O'Keefe finished 10th place at the Augusta National Women's Amateur.
Kim, who is ranked No. 16 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings, finished T14 at the NCAA Championship. Kim was T5 at the SEC Championship and has tallied six top-five finishes on the season. Kim earned medalist honors at the Betsy Rawls Invitational this season, her second win of her collegiate career.
Hsu, who is ranked No. 34 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings, earned All-America honorable mention honors following the 2024-25 season. Hsu also earned Academic All-America honors from the College Sports Communicators organization. Hsu earned medalist honors at the Ladies National Golf Association Amateur Championship this summer in a six-shot victory.
Lu, ranked No. 58 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings is the newest addition to the Longhorns. Lu comes to Austin after two seasons at Washington. Lu was the No. 1 player for Washington in the 2024-25 season and earned 2025 WGCA All-America honorable mention honors as well as All-Big Ten First Team honors. Lu also earned All-American honorable mention honors from Golfweek. Her best finish came at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational where she was the co-champion at 11-under-par.
Liao was injured for a large portion of the 2024-25 season, but played in six tournament in her freshman season with a score average of 73.00. Liao was the Longhorns top individual at the Silverado Showdown that season with a fourth place finish. Liao had her round counted in 16 of the 19 rounds she played for Texas in her freshman season.
The Longhorns open the 2025 fall schedule at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate presented by 3M, Sept. 8-10 in Lake Elmo, Minnesota.
