Track and Field's Smallwood breaks 60m hurdle program record

Smallwood now owns both school hurdle marks.
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Texas Track and Field's Kendrick Smallwood broke the 60-meter hurdles program record at the Razorback Invitational. The senior now holds both Texas records in the hurdles.
Smallwood ran 7.63 in the 60mH prelims before breaking the record in 7.56 in the semifinals. He now owns four of the five fastest times in Texas history.
Jonathan Hertwig-Ødegaard later finished third in his first collegiate heptathlon with a score of 5,788 points. After running 8.16 in the 60mH, he went on to clear 4.55m (14-11) in the pole vault. He ended his competition running the 1,000-meter in 2:41.93. The score ranks eighth on the UT All-Time performer list.
In the ring, Michael Piñones moved to No. 9 on the UT All-Time performer list in shot put with a massive personal best throw of 19.48m (63-11). His throw was the second-best in the competition. On the women's side, Giavonna Meeks recorded her second personal best of the weekend after throwing 16.28m (53-5) in shot put. The mark put her at No. 10 on the All-Time list.
Sophomore Jeanne le Goffe was sixth in the triple jump with her jump of 13.32m (43-8.50) to move to No. 6 on the UT All-Time performer list.
Back on the track, senior Elizabeth Pickett ran the ninth-fastest 3,000-meter time in school history at 9:12.96. Nathanael Berhane also recorded a personal best on the men's side at 8:04.32.
Both 4x400-meter relays improved their season best times lead by the men's squad of Logan Popelka, John Rutledge, Sihle Mahlangu and Troy Mason who were fourth in 3:07.12. The time ranks 20th in school history. The women of Ramiah Elliott, Elise Cooper, Bayleigh Minor and Anouk Krause-Jentsch finished in 3:31.16.
