AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Women's Track & Field junior Carleta Bernard was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Third Team, the organization announced Wednesday.
A native of Tryall Gardens, Hanover, Jamaica, Bernard becomes the seventh woman in program history to earn Academic All-America honors and the first since Haley Crouser was selected to the Third Team in 2018. She is a chemistry major with a 3.60 grade point average.
Bernard helped Texas place seventh in the 4x100-meter relay at the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Championships to earn her third consecutive First Team All-America honor in the event and fourth career All-America accolade overall. She also qualified for the NCAA Championships in the 100 meters.
Earlier in the outdoor season, Bernard helped the Longhorns capture the Carlette Guidry 4x100-meter relay title at the Texas Relays and moved into eighth on the Texas all-time performers list in the 100 meters with a personal-best time of 11.06. During the indoor season, she also climbed to No. 8 in program history in the 60 meters after running 7.19 at the Corky Classic.
