Track & Field lands six CSC Academic All-District selections

Carleta Bernard, Tabea Eitel, Jeanne Le Goff and Michael Piñones advanced to the CSC Academic All-America ballot.
AUSTIN, Texas – Six members of the Texas Track & Field program have been named to 2026 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Track & Field/Cross Country teams, the organization announced on Tuesday.
Representing Texas on the women's side were Sophie Atkinson, Carleta Bernard, Tabea Eitel and Jeanne Le Goff, while Hudson Bennett and Michael Piñones earned honors for the Longhorn men.
Four Longhorns – Bernard, Eitel, Le Goff and Piñones – were selected as CSC Academic All-America finalists and advanced to the national ballot for voting by CSC members.
Bernard played a key role in Texas' sprint corps throughout the 2026 season, earning First Team All-America honors as part of the Longhorns' 4x100-meter relay and Honorable Mention All-America recognition in the 100 meters. The junior helped Texas place seventh in the 4x100-meter relay at the NCAA Outdoor Championships with a season-best time of 42.92 and was a member of the winning Carlette Guidry 4x100-meter relay at the Texas Relays. Bernard also scored in both the 60 meters and 200 meters at the SEC Indoor Championships, placing eighth and seventh, respectively. She is majoring in Chemistry and holds a 3.60 GPA.
Eitel continued her emergence as one of the nation's premier multi-event athletes. The sophomore earned First Team All-America honors in the heptathlon outdoors and Second Team All-America recognition in the pentathlon indoors. She posted a personal-best 5,948 points in the heptathlon at the NCAA Championships, ranking No. 3 on Texas' all-time performers list, while her pentathlon best of 4,261 points, registered at the SEC Indoor Championships, also ranks third in program history. Eitel was the top collegiate finisher at the Texas Relays with 5,648 points, earning SEC Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week honors. She is majoring in Youth and Community Studies and Urban Teachers ELAR and holds a 3.83 GPA.
Le Goff enjoyed a breakout season in the jumps, earning First Team All-America honors in the triple jump after placing eighth at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. The sophomore recorded a wind-legal personal-best jump of 13.38 meters (43-10.75) at the national meet after advancing through the NCAA West Preliminary Round with a mark of 13.56 meters (44-6). She finished fourth in the high jump and triple jump at the SEC Outdoor Championships and sixth in the triple jump at the SEC Indoor Championships while also posting a personal-best 1.76 meters (5-9.25) in the high jump. Le Goff ranks No. 4 on Texas' outdoor triple jump performers list and No. 6 indoors. Le Goff ranks No. 4 on Texas' outdoor triple jump performers list and No. 6 indoors. She is majoring in Communication & Leadership and holds a 3.96 GPA.
In her first season with Texas, Atkinson etched her name throughout the Longhorn record book. The graduate transfer established new school records indoors in both the 3,000 meters (9:04.40) and 5,000 meters (15:37.26), breaking a 39-year-old record in the 3,000 meters. Outdoors, she won the Texas Relays 5,000-meter title in 15:35.33, moving to No. 2 on Texas' all-time performers list in the event, and recorded the program's No. 9 all-time performance in the 10,000 meters at 33:42.19 at the SEC Championships. Atkinson scored at both SEC Championships, placing seventh in the 5,000 meters indoors before adding seventh-place and eighth-place finishes in the 10,000 meters and 5,000 meters, respectively, at the SEC Outdoor Championships. She earned her graduate certificate in Strategic Communication with a 4.0 GPA.
On the men's side, Piñones garnered Academic All-District honors after producing one of the top shot put seasons in the conference. He earned Indoor All-America honors with an eighth-place finish at the NCAA Indoor Championships, where he recorded a personal-best throw of 19.63 meters (64-5), ranking No. 8 on Texas' all-time performers list. Piñones claimed shot put titles at both the Texas Relays and Texas Invitational, highlighted by a winning throw of 19.79 meters (64-11.25) at the Texas Invitational that moved him to No. 9 in school history. He recorded six top-three finishes in the shot put during the 2026 campaign. He is majoring in Communication & Leadership and holds a 3.62 GPA.
Bennett turned in a strong season in the distance events, highlighted by a sixth-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the SEC Outdoor Championships with a personal-best time of 8:37.71, a mark that ranks No. 8 on Texas' all-time performers list and secured a berth to the NCAA West Preliminary Round. During cross country season, Bennett placed 22nd overall and third among Longhorns at the NCAA South Central Regional. A member of the 2025-26 SEC Track & Field/Cross Country Community Service Team, Bennett was recognized as a Hook 'Em Community Hero in March and participated in numerous outreach initiatives throughout the year. He is majoring in Finance and holds a 3.68 GPA.
First-, second- and third-team CSC Academic All-America honorees will be announced July 14, 2026.
