No. 1 Men’s Swimming and Diving reaches the podium in the 800 freestyle and 200 medley relays on day two of the 2026 SEC Championships

The Longhorns claim gold in the 800 freestyle relay and silver in the 200 medley relay.
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – No. 1 Men's Swimming and Diving completed day two of the SEC Championships by earning gold in the 800 freestyle relay and silver in the 200 medley relay Tuesday evening at the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center.
The Longhorns opened the evening with a silver-medal finish as Will Modglin, Nate Germonprez, Hubert Kos and Garrett Gould touched second in 1:20.85 to reach the podium.
In the final event of the night, Texas broke a four-year-old Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center record as Rafael Fente-Damers, Baylor Nelson, Rex Maurer and Camden Taylor earned gold with a time of 6:06.24. The previous record was held by Florida.
Following day two, the Longhorns sit third in the team standings with 190 points, trailing Tennessee (213) and Florida (274).
The 2026 SEC Swimming and Diving Championships continue Wednesday, Feb. 18, with preliminaries in the 100 back, 200 fly and 100 breaststroke beginning at 8:30 a.m. CT. The men's 3-meter diving prelims are set for 11 a.m. CT, followed by the consolation final after prelims conclude. Finals in the 100 back, 200 fly, 100 breaststroke and men's 3-meter diving are scheduled for 4:30 p.m. CT. All sessions will stream live on SEC Network+.
