Dailyn Swain earns spot on first team, while Matas Vokietaitis claims mention on second team.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — University of Texas junior guard/forward Dailyn Swain and sophomore center Matas Vokietaitis have earned spots on the 2026 National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-Gulf District Teams, the NABC announced Tuesday morning. Swain earned a spot on the 10-person first team, while Vokietaitis garnered mention on the 10-person second team.

The NABC introduced a new model last year for its Division I district alignment, with schools arranged by state rather than by conference. The NABC Gulf District encompasses all Division I member institutions in the states of Texas and Louisiana.

Swain was previously named one of five finalists for the Julius Erving Small Forward of the Year Award and earned SEC Newcomer of the Year and All-SEC Second Team accolades. He became the first player in program history to earn SEC Newcomer of the Year honors and the fourth individual in school history to claim conference Newcomer of the Year accolades. Swain joins a distinguished group of Texas players to earn league Newcomer of the Year honors. Travis Mays (1987), Lance Blanks (1989) and B.J. Tyler (1992) garnered Southwest Conference Newcomer of the Year accolades.

During UT's first 32 games (32 starts) this season, Swain leads the team in scoring (17.8 ppg), rebounding (7.6 rpg), assists (108, 3.4 apg), steals (55, 1.7 spg) and minutes (32.2 mpg) while hitting 55.1-percent (195-354) from the floor and 81.6-percent (151-185) from the free throw line. Per ESPN Research, he is currently the ONLY player in a Major Conference to lead his team in at least FIVE major statistical categories. Cameron Boozer (Duke) leads his team in four major stat categories through games of March 15.

Swain has reached double digits in scoring in 29 of the first 32 games, topped the 20-point 12 times, hit the 30-point mark twice and posted eight double-doubles this season. In SEC play, he averaged 19.6 ppg, 7.9 rpg, 3.3 apg and 1.8 spg in 34.2 mpg while hitting 54.9-percent (117-213) from the floor, including a 38.5-percent (20-52) mark from three-point range, and 82.5-percent (99-120) from the free throw line. He topped the 20-point mark nine times and the 30-point mark twice while posting five double-doubles in his 18 league games.

In conference play, Swain ranked eighth in scoring, third in rebounding, fourth in field goal percentage, tied for ninth in free throw percentage, fifth in steals and tied for second in defensive rebounds (6.33 rpg). He claimed SEC Co-Player of the Week honors on Feb. 16 and was named to the six-person Southwest Maui Invitational All-Tournament Team.

Vokietaitis has played and started all 32 contests this season. He leads the team in blocks (30) and ranks second in scoring (15.5 ppg) and rebounding (6.8 rpg) and fourth in minutes (25.8 mpg) while hitting 63.1-percent (161-255) from the floor.

Vokietaitis has reached double digits in scoring in 28 of the first 32 games, including seven 20-point performances. He has hit double figures in rebounding five times and posted five double-doubles. According to KenPom (through games of March 15), Vokietaitis ranks third nationally in Free Throw Rate (99.6) and third nationally in Fouls Drawn per 40 minutes (8.3).

Texas (18-14, 9-9 SEC) is the No. 11 seed in the West Region of the NCAA Tournament and will open play in the NCAA First Four against No. 11 seed NC State later tonight (Tuesday, March 17). Tip for the Texas-NC State contest is set for approximately 8:10 p.m. Central (9:10 p.m. Eastern) at the University of Dayton Arena, and the game will be televised nationally by truTV.
