No. 5 Beach Volleyball splits on final day of MPSF Mid-Season Rumble

Longhorns concluded the tournament with three wins, including two ranked victories.
LOS ANGELES – No. 5 Texas Beach Volleyball swept Oregon but fell to No. 1 Stanford on the second day of the MPSF Mid-Season Rumble on Saturday at Mapes Beach. Texas swept its opponents three times during the tournament and improved to 7-3 overall this season.
The Longhorns recorded their third consecutive sweep of the tournament with a 5-0 win over Oregon. Noa Sonneville and Karin Zolnercikova clinched the victory for Texas with a 21-12, 21-13 win on Court 5.
Texas fell behind 0-2 against Stanford before tying the dual with wins from Brecht Piersma and Katie Hashman on Court 1, along with Sonneville and Zolnercikova on Court 5. The match on Court 3 featuring Emma Grace Robertson and Savannah Thomas went to a third set, where Stanford secured the dual with a 15-6 victory. Texas has now fallen to top-ranked Stanford by a 3-2 score twice this season.
The Longhorns will travel to Manhattan Beach, California, to compete in the East Meets West Invitational from March 13-14. The tournament will feature matches against No. 2 UCLA, No. 9 Loyola Marymount, No. 10 California and No. 12 Hawai'i.
Texas previously faced all four teams during the opening weekend of the season at the Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Beach Classic, earning victories against Loyola Marymount, California and Hawai'i.
