No. 6 Women’s Golf falls against Texas A&M in match play quarterfinals at SEC Championship

BELLEAIR, Fla. – Cindy Hsu put Texas women's golf on the board first, but the Longhorns came up short in a 3-2 defeat against Texas A&M in match play quarterfinals at the SEC Championship on Monday.
Hsu won four of the first nine holes of her match and added birdies on 12 and 13 to clinch the match in 13 holes and put Texas up 1-0 in the overall match.
Lauren Kim trailed by two through six holes, but won holes eight and nine to even her match. Her opponent won holes 10, 12 and 14 to go 3 up and win 3&2.
Farah O'Keefe birdied the first hole to go one up in the match. Through nine holes the match was tied, but O'Keefe won the 10th hole to go one up. After her opponent tied the match at hole 13, O'Keefe birdied the par-5 14th hole to go one up and was two up when the overall match was decided.
Up next the Longhorns await the results of the NCAA selection show for placement for the NCAA Regional. That show will take place on April 29.
