No. 3 Beach Volleyball sweeps three matches on opening day of Longhorn Showdown

Longhorns record 10th sweep of the 2026 season.
AUSTIN, Texas – No. 3 Texas Beach Volleyball recorded three sweeps against No. 19 Washington, Tulane and Houston Christian on Friday at the Longhorn Showdown at Wright-Whitaker Sports Complex.
Texas improved to 19-6 overall, including a 17-6 mark against ranked opponents.
The Longhorns opened the day with a 5-0 win over Tulane, as Brecht Piersma and Katie Hashman clinched the dual on Court 1 with a 21-15, 23-21 victory.
Texas followed with another 5-0 sweep of Houston Christian. Ava Patton and Vivian Johnson secured the clinching point on Court 1 with a 21-18, 21-8 win.
The Longhorns closed the day with a sweep of Washington. Piersma and Hashman earned their second clinching win of the day, rallying for a 19-21, 21-15, 15-6 victory on Court 1.
Texas will continue competition Saturday, March 28, facing Tulane at 8:30 a.m. CT on LHN/KBVO, presented by Truist.
