AUSTIN, Texas – No. 2 Texas Beach Volleyball will compete at the NCAA Championship, held May 1-3 in Gulf Shores, Alabama, as the No. 2 overall seed.
The Longhorns open play Friday against No. 15 seed Georgia State at 1 p.m. CT. The winner will advance to the quarterfinals on Saturday, May 2, to face the winner of TCU and Loyola Marymount.
The Longhorns enter the championship following a title run at the MPSF Championship, capturing the program's first conference tournament title in its first season in the league.
Texas earned six All-MPSF selections: Katie Hashman, Brecht Piersma and Anna Pavelkova were named to the first team, while Kačka Pavelkova, Emma Grace Robertson and Lily Davis earned second-team honors. Head coach Stein Metzger was named MPSF Coach of the Year. The No. 1 pair of Hashman and Piersma were also selected as AVCA Collegiate Beach All-Americans.
