Women's Golf's Charlotte Naughton wins European Ladies’ Amateur Championship

Incoming freshman Charlotte Naughton adds to her impressive amateur resume with the victory.
ALLERUM, Sweden — Incoming Texas women's golf freshman Charlotte Naughton captured the European Ladies' Amateur Championship on Sunday at Allerum in Sweden.
Naughton earned a two-shot victory over second place and No. 6 ranked amateur in the world Meja Ortengren.
Naughton carded a bogey-free five-under 67 in the third round to give her a two-shot lead going into the final round and finished with an even-par 72. For the tournament, Naughton shot 8-under-par.
Naughton, a native of Northumberland, England was the youngest member of the Great Britain & Ireland team at the Curtis Cup this summer. Naughton represented Europe at the 2025 Junior Ryder Cup and England in the World Junior Girls Championship.
Naughton registered an impressive seven-stroke victory in the Junior Orange Bowl in January, setting a tournament record at 10-under. Naughton advanced to the round of 32 in the Women's Amateur Championship in 2025 and in 2026 finished third in the European Nations Cup.
