Quartet from No. 6 Baseball receive NCBWA All-America distinction

Longhorns are lone SEC program with three first-team selections
AUSTIN, Texas — University of Texas student-athletes Aiden Robbins, Dylan Volantis, Sam Cozart and Carson Tinney earned All-America recognition, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association announced Tuesday afternoon.
Robbins, Volantis and Cozart all garnered first-time distinction, while Tinney landed on the third team.
The Longhorns' four selections are tied with UCLA for the most of any school nationally.
Earlier on Wednesday, Robbins, Volantis and Cozart also collected All-America plaudits from Perfect Game.

Robbins paces the team in eight offensive categories, highlighted by his 24 home runs, 64 RBI and .720 slugging percentage. Meanwhile, the 6-foot-2, 205-pound outfielder sits second in average (.359) and OPS (1.155).
Across Texas' 131 years of baseball, Robbins is tied for the third-most homers in a season, matching Kody Clemens (2018).
Within the SEC, Robbins checks in with the second-most home runs, fifth-highest total bases (162) and slugging percentage, sixth-most RBI and seven-best OPS (1.155).
An NCBWA First Team All-American for the second straight season, Volantis has registered the second-best FIP (1.78) and the fourth-lowest ERA (2.03) in all of Division I Baseball. The sophomore also ranks 14th in WHIP (1.02) and 16th in B/AVG (.192).
Volantis has notched a 10-1 mark across 16 outings, including 15 starts.
Heading into the Men's College World Series, his 2.00 career ERA leads all qualifying pitchers.
A finalist for the NCBWA Stopper of the Year Award, Cozart boasts a 6-0 ledger and nine saves, matching Portland's Alex Via for the most of any freshman nationally.
The 6-foot-6, 260-pound righty paces all Division I pitchers (min. 45) in WHIP (0.69) and B/AVG (.132). Cozart also sits second in ERA (1.64), trailing only UC Santa Barbara's Jackson Flora (1.06).
The High Point, N.C., native has posted 71 strikeouts compared to just 12 walks.
A two-time NCBWA All-American, Tinney is slashing .333/.484/.710 with 22 home runs, 58 RBI and a team-high 1.194 OPS.
The 6-foot-4, 240-pound backstop ranks tied for third in walks (50), fourth in OPS, tied for fifth in homers, sixth in OBP, seventh in slugging, eighth in runs scored (66) and 10th in total base (149), among all SEC hitters.
Tinney is also a finalist for the Buster Posey National Collegiate Catcher of the Year Award.
