Four Longhorns help lead U.S. Volleyball to U21 Pan American Cup gold

Anderson, Harris, Harvey and Vander Wal help Team USA capture NORCECA PanAm Cup championship.
AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Volleyball's Henley Anderson, Genevieve Harris, Taylor Harvey and Abby Vander Wal helped lead the United States to the 2026 NORCECA Women's U21 Pan American Cup championship, as Team USA defeated Canada, 3-0 (25-18, 25-19, 25-21), in Sunday's gold medal match at Covelli Center in Columbus, Ohio.
The United States completed the tournament with a perfect 5-0 record, dropping just one set while defeating Venezuela, Mexico and Canada during pool play before sweeping Mexico in the semifinals and Canada in the championship match.
Anderson registered nine points in the gold medal match with four kills, three aces and two blocks. She started four of Team USA's five matches, highlighted by a team-high 17 points in a four-set pool-play victory over Canada on 13 kills and four aces before recording nine points in both the semifinal victory over Mexico and the championship match.
Harris directed the U.S. offense in a pool-play victory over Mexico, recording seven points on four aces, two blocks and a kill. She also saw action in the tournament opener against Venezuela, helping Team USA hit nearly .500 in its straight-set victory.
Harvey turned in one of Team USA's top individual performances during pool play against Mexico, recording 12 points on eight kills and four blocks, before adding six points in the semifinal victory over Mexico.
Vander Wal started three matches and opened the tournament with a team-high 13 points against Venezuela before registering a match-best 14 kills in the Americans' four-set pool-play victory over Canada.
Texas was represented on both U.S. Women's National Team rosters competing internationally during the week. Former Longhorns Saige Ka'aha'aina-Torres, Molly McCage, Asjia O'Neal, Logan Eggleston and Chiaka Ogbogu helped the senior U.S. Women's National Team finish 10-2 in Volleyball Nations League preliminary play, capped by a straight-set victory over world No. 2-ranked Brazil to clinch the No. 1 seed for the Volleyball Nations League finals, scheduled for July 22-26 in Macao, China. The United State will face China in the quarterfinals on July 22.
