Farah O’Keefe leads Texas at T3 on the leaderboard after 36 holes.
FRISCO, Texas — The Texas women's golf team got the season underway with the opening 36 holes at the Jackson T. Stephens Cup Monday at Field Ranch East at PGA Frisco.
The Longhorns shot rounds of 6-over and even par to open the tournament. Their 6-over 582 has them in fourth place on the team leaderboard and three shots back of third place. South Carolina leads the field at 9-under and Wake Forest is second at 8-under. Oregon is in third place at 3-over.
The Longhorns closed strong in the second round as they played the final six holes in eight-under-par. Amy Lee and Lauren Kim each birdied three holes in that stretch.
On the individual side 2026 NCAA Champion Farah O'Keefe put together rounds of 71-71 for a score of 2-under and tied for third on the leaderboard. O'Keefe is four shots back of the lead heading into the final round of stroke play tomorrow.
Selina Liao is T12 at 1-over, Lauren Kim is T16 at 2-over, freshman Amy Lee is 27th at 8-over and Isla McDonald-O'Brien is T28 at 9-over.
The Longhorns will start the final 18 holes of stroke play tomorrow at 12:24 p.m. central time off hole 10.
The Lineup
Farah O'Keefe made back-to-back birdies on holes 14 and 15 in the second round of the tournament and finished the day at 2-under-par and T3 on the individual leaderboard.
Selina Liao turned in the best round of the day for a Texas player with her 2-under 70 over the first 18 holes of the tournament. Liao made three birdies and one bogey in her opening round and is T12 for the tournament at 1-over.
Lauren Kim played her final six holes in 3-under and carded rounds of 73-73 for a total of 2-over and T16.
Freshman Amy Lee came back strong in her second round to shoot 1-under 71. Lee birdied three of her final four holes in the round and is 27th place on the leaderboard.
Isla McDonald-O'Brien birdied hole 18 to finish her second round at 1-over and 9-over for the tournament and T28 on the leaderboard.
