Ryan Monsevalles returned to Texas as Director of Player Personnel and Analytics after serving one season as Player Development Video Coordinator in the Toronto Blue Jays organization. Monsevalles was previously the Director of Player Personnel for Texas Baseball in 2018 and the 2021 season will be his 10th season working with the baseball program overall.
The Texas graduate assists with day-to-day player operations, player development, and camp operations. Monsevalles operates BATS video software for postgame film review, provides coaches and players with opponent scouting video, and analyzes advanced metrics using Rapsodo and Trackman data. Monsevalles focuses primarily on data analysis for pitch design, pitch efficacy, and overall pitcher development.
In addition to his film and analysis work, Monsevalles also aids student-athletes in areas of academics and career services.
A Rio Grande Valley native from San Benito, Texas, Monsevalles previously served as a student video manager for four seasons (2014-17). He originally began working with the Texas Baseball team in 2012 as a camp intern.
Monsevalles graduated from UT with his bachelor’s degree in sport management in 2014 before earning his master’s in legal studies from Texas State in 2017.
