Played in all 12 games and made three starts ... blocked for the nation’s leading rusher, D’Onta Foreman, who rushed for 2,028 yards ... totaled four catches for 82 yards and two touchdowns ... made his first appearance of the season against No. 10 Notre Dame, serving as a lead blocker in the 18-wheeler package ...started against UTEP, Kansas State, Baylor and TCU ... scored his first career touchdown in a loss to Oklahoma State in week four ... caught a pass over the middle and took it 39 yards to the end zone ... had two receptions for 23 yards in a win over No. 8 Baylor ... caught his second career touchdown ... started the regular season finale against TCU and had one catch for 20 yards against the Horned Frogs.
SOPHOMORE (2015)
Played in all 12 games, starting 10, at tight end … recorded eight receptions for 77 yards for the season … helped block for a rushing attack that ranked 18th in the nation and third in the Big 12 with 224.8 yards per game, including 263.0 ypg in the last seven … the offense also ranked 26th in the nation in red zone efficiency (.882) … part of an offense that was just the fourth at Texas since 1950 to record three games with six rushing TDs in a season … made his first career reception for 10 yards at Notre Dame … caught a five-yard pass and helped the offense post a season-high 650 total yards with 364 yards passing and 286 yards rushing with six rushing TDs versus Cal … tallied a four-yard reception and helped the offense rush for an Oklahoma opponent season-high of 313 yards … registered a five-yard reception and helped the offense rush for 274 yards and three TDs against Kansas State, while allowing just one sack … notched a season-high 22-yard reception and one tackle at Iowa State … had a 15-yard catch and helped the offense to matching 299-yard rushing and passing marks for 598 yards total with six rushing TDs against Kansas, while allowing just one sack … helped the offense post 277 rushing yards at West Virginia … helped the offense record 403 yards and six TDs on the ground versus Texas Tech, marking just the seventh 400-yard rushing game by Texas since 1980 … totaled two receptions for 16 yards at Baylor
FRESHMAN (2014)
Saw action in all 13 games at either tight end or special teams with two starts (WVU & TCU) … was a key cog in the running game all season long though did not record a reception … recorded two special teams tackles in the BYU game … made his first career start against West Virginia … enrolled in January and participated in spring drills.
HIGH SCHOOL
Coached by Robert Weiner at Plant High School where he was a four-year letterman and two-year starter … selected first-team 8A All-State by the Associated Press in 2013 … also named first-team All-Western Conference and first-team All-Hillsborough County … ranked as the No. 46 outside linebacker in the nation by ESPN … No. 23 ILB nationally and No. 68 player in Florida by Rivals … No. 24 ILB nationally and No. 66 player in Florida by 247Sports … No. 36 MLB nationally by Scout … registered 110 tackles, seven sacks, three fumble recoveries and one forced fumble as a senior … helped Plant to an 11-2 record and an appearance in the 8A state semifinals in 2013 … recorded 126 tackles, six sacks, 35 tackles for loss and eight passes defended as a junior … notched 23 tackles and six tackles for loss against Tampa Bay Tech … also played some tight end that season … helped Plant to a 10-1 record and an appearance in the 8A regional semifinals in 2012 … part of a Plant team that won the 2011 8A State Championship.
