• Placed 15th at the Big 12 Championships in the 10,000 meters with a time of 32:48.24
• Ran a personal-best time of 15:08.81 in the 5,000 meters to finish 11th at the Texas Relays
• Finished fourth in the 3,000 meters at the Texas Twilight with a personal-best time of 8:43.23
• Clocked a personal-best 4:08.67 in the 1,500 meters at the Hurricane Invitational to finish 12th

2007-08
OUTDOOR (REDSHIRT FRESHMAN)
• Posted a personal-best 30:44.78 in the 10,000 meters to place 10th overall at the Big 12 Championships
INDOOR (SOPHOMORE)
• Received a medical redshirt after a leg injury forced him out of action
• Finished sixth in the 5,000-meter run with a career-best 15:05.93 at the Razorback Invitational
• Won the 5,000 meters at the Leonard Hilton Memorial with a 15:06.49
• Finished second at the Houston Indoor with a time of 15:19.97
CROSS COUNTRY (SOPHOMORE)
• Posted a 26:37.54 to finish as the eighth Longhorn at the Big 12 Championships
• Placed second overall at the Texas State Invitational (five miles) in 25:59.87, behind first place finisher and teammate Kyle Miller
• Posted a 5K personal best (25:07) at the Blue Ridge Open to finish 17th ... helped lead Texas to a first place finish overall
• Clocked 23:08 at the ASU vs. Texas B 5K race, finishing ninth overall and fifth for UT

• Was the second Texas scorer at the Willamette Invitational, finishing the 8K run in 25:36

• Finished eighth at the 2005 Texas cross country state meet to earn all-state honors

Born in Fort Worth, Texas ... son of Olga and Manuel ... cousin, Natnael Amare, was an All-American and the 2000 NAIA marathon champion at Northwood University ... majoring in finance ... a two-time first-team Academic All-Big 12 performer ... a three-time member of UT[apos]s Athletics Director[apos]s Honor Roll.
