2008 U.S. OLYMPIC TRIALS
· Placed fifth in the 200m freestyle (1:46.64) to earn a spot on the U.S. Olympic Team as a member of the 800m freestyle relay pool; qualified seventh in the preliminary round at 1:47.85 and fourth in the semifinals at 1:46.65
· Placed 15th overall in the 100 freestyle (49.41); qualified 11th in the preliminary round at 49.04
AS A SOPHOMORE (2007-08)
· Won his first NCAA individual title in the 200 freestyle, finishing in 1:32.56 to become UT[apos]s fourth NCAA 200 freestyle champion and its first since Josh Davis in 1993
· Swam the opening leg of UT[apos]s second-place 800 freestyle relay in 1:34.04 at the NCAA Championships; relay finished in 6:16.54
· Swam the opening leg of UT[apos]s fifth-place 400 freestyle relay in 43.05 at the NCAA Championships; relay finished in 2:51.85
· Placed fifth in the 500 freestyle in 4:14.43 at the NCAA Championships
· Placed second in the 100 freestyle consolation final and 10th overall in 42.83 at the NCAA Championships
· Set a new school record in the 200 freestyle after clocking 1:32.51 on the lead leg of UT[apos]s NCAA, American, U.S. Open, Big 12, Big 12 meet and pool record 800 freestyle relay at the Big 12 Championships; relay finished in 6:10.55
· Won Big 12 Conference titles in the 100 freestyle (42.57) and the 200 freestyle (1:32.66)
AS A FRESHMAN (2006-07)
· Placed eighth in the 200-yard freestyle (1:35.49) and 15th in the 500-yard freestyle (4:20.90) at the NCAA Championships
· Helped the 800-yard freestyle relay to fourth place (6:20.78) at the NCAA Championships by splitting 1:37.47 in the relay[apos]s third leg
· Also competed in the 100-yard freestyle at the NCAA Championships, where he clocked 43.94
· Swam the opening leg (1:35.56) on the second-fastest 800 freestyle relay in UT history at the Big 12 Championships
· Swam the third leg (43.85) of UT[apos]s first-place 400-yard freestyle relay at the Big 12 Championships
· Placed second in the 200 freestyle (1:35.19), third in the 100 freestyle (43.76) and third in the 500 freestyle (4:23.54) at the Big 12 Championships
· Claimed the 1000-yard freestyle (9:26.78) against Texas A&M
· Captured the 500 freestyle (4:24.68) at the Texas Invitational
· Competed in the 200 freestyle in six regular-season meets, with second-place finishes against California and Indiana (1:38.55), Auburn (1:37.89) and Georgia (1:38.60)
INTERNATIONALLY
· Helped Team USA to gold in the 800-meter freestyle relay at the 2007 FINA World Championships by splitting 1:47.75 in the event[apos]s third leg during the preliminary round
· Placed fourth in the 200-meter freestyle (1:48.12) in the 2007 USA vs. Australia Dual in the Pool
NATIONALLY
· 2007 U.S. National Champion in the 100-meter freestyle; won the event in 48.93 at the ConocoPhillips USA Swimming National Championships
· Placed sixth in 200-meter free at 2005 U.S. Senior Nationals with a time of 1:49.90.
· Was also a member of the 2004-05 USA Swimming National Junior Team
HIGH SCHOOL
· Named Tabb High School Most Valuable Swimmer for 2004-05
· Helped team to two team Virginia State Championships
· As a junior, he finished first at the state championships meet in the 50-yard freestyle (state record time), 500-yard freestyle (state record time), 200-yard medley relay and 400-yard freestyle relay
· As a freshman, he placed first at the state championships in the 500-yard freestyle, 400-yard freestyle relay and the 200-yard medley relay
