- Volunteer Assistant Coach
After playing her final campaign in the Burnt Orange & White in 2021, Molly Jacobsen transitioned to a staff role by spending one season (2022) as a graduate manager for the Texas softball program before taking on the volunteer assistant role for the 2023 campaign.
During her graduate season on the Forty Acres, Jacobsen put up a 14-6 overall pitching record with 17 starts, five complete games, six solo shutouts and 76 strikeouts over 91.0 innings of work. Along the way, the Adel, Iowa, native picked up high-profile wins over Ole Miss, No. 13 LSU, BYU, McNeese State, Texas Tech, Iowa State, Baylor and No. 10 Oregon. In the deciding game of the NCAA Austin Regional against the nationally-ranked Ducks, Jacobsen tossed arguably her finest game of the year by scattering five hits while posting a 1-0 shutout.
Prior to joining Texas, Jacobsen was a standout pitcher at Ole Miss (2019-20) and Des Moines Area Community College (2017-18).
With the Rebels, Jacobsen managed 19 pitching wins and a 2.53 ERA over 49 appearances with 36 starts, 14 complete games, six solo shutouts, five saves and 230 strikeouts over 238 innings. As a junior in 2019, she reaped NFCA Second Team All-South Region and All-Southeastern Conference Second Team honors.
Prior to her time in Oxford, Jacobsen was a two-time first-team NJCAA All-American, All-District and All-Conference choice at Des Moines Area CC. She registered a 51-6 career pitching mark with 585 strikeouts (12.27 K-per-seven-innings), while also hitting over .400 with eight HR’s and 57 career RBIs.
