OUTDOOR: Competed in the 800m at the USF Bulls Invitational finishing eighth with a time of 1:52.50... Won the 1500m at the 95th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays with his time of 3:43.10 and was on the fourth-place 4x800 team that finished with a time of 7:33.03... Ran a PB in the 1500m at the Bryan Clay Invitational with his time of 3:39.34... Finished fourth at the Payton Jordan Invitational in the 800m with a PB time of 1:49.05... Competed in both the 1500m and the 5K at the Big 12 Championships... Reached the NCAA West Prelims in the 1500m, finishing with a time of 3:45.73.
INDOOR: Opened his indoor season in the mile at the John Thomas Terrier Classic and finished with a time of 4:11.81... Ran the mile in 4:06.71 at the David Hemery Valentine Invite... Ran a PB in the 1000 final at the Big 12 Championships with his time of 2:22.26 to finish fifth and helped the DMR finish 4th with a time of 9:51.19 running the opening leg... Ran the opening leg of the DMR at the NCAA Indoor Championships that finished 10th with a time of 9:52.29...
Cross Country: Competed in his first race of the season at the 2022 Cowboy Jamboree and finished the 8K in 25:12.9... Was the fourth finisher for Texas at the Panorama Farms XC 23 Invitational in the 8K, finishing with a time of 24:05.2... Helped Texas finish third at the Big 12 Championships, finishing 23rd overall with a time of 25:00.4 in the 8K... Finished 35th in the 10K at the NCAA South Central Region with his time of 31:53.7... Was the third finisher for Texas at the NCAA Championships in the 10K at 30:30.3 and helped the Longhorns to a 18th-place finish...
2021-22 (Junior)
OUTDOOR: Finished fourth in the 5000m with a personal-best time of 13:59.81 and helped the DMR finish fourth with a time of 9:50.47 at the Texas Relays… Won the 1500m in the dual meet against Texas A&M with a time of 3:42.68... Became the No. 4 performer in Texas history with the No. 7 performance in the 1500m with a time of 3:39.64 at the Bryan Clay Invitational...Was part of the winning 4xmile team at Penn Relays that finished with a time of 16:17.45 to become the third-team in Texas history to win the event… Competed in the 800m at the Big 12 Championships and eighth in the 1500m to help Texas to the team title… Ran the 1500m at the NCAA West Prelims…
INDOOR: Competed at the Clemson Invitational and helped the Texas B team to a 10:03.33 time in the DMR... Won the 800m run at the Camel City Invitational with a time of 4:01.69... Claimed the Texas mile program record with his time of 3:57.09 at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational... Finished fifth in the mile with a time of 4:00.85 after running the fifth-fastest time in program history in the prelims at (3:58.04) at the Big 12 Indoor Championships... Was part of the NCAA Champion DMR team and helped Texas win its frest ever NCAA Team Title.
Cross Country: Opened his cross country season at the Cowboy Jamboree in the 8K with a time of 24:31.4, helping the Longhorns finish fourth overall... Was the seventh Longhorn to finish the 8K at the FSU Invite with a time of 24:22.9, helping No. 24 Texas finish sixth overall... Was the first Longhorn to finish the men's 8K at the Big 12 Championships with his time of 24:30.5 to finish 11th overall, earn All-Big 12 Team honors and led Texas to its fourth-straight third place finish.... Helped Texas defend its NCAA South Central Regional title with a ninth-place finish in the 10K with his time of 30:32.4 giving him USTFCCCAA All-Region honors... Was the fourth Longhorn to finish the 10K at the NCAA Championships with his PB time of 30:13.9 to give Texas its best finish (14th) since 2013.
2019-20 (Freshman)
OUTDOOR: 2020 season canceled due to COVID-19 pandemic.
INDOOR: Placed 20th in the 3,000m at the Razorback Invitational.
CROSS COUNTRY: Raced in seven meets … debuted with a seventh-place finish at the Bear Twilight in Waco, Texas … placed third in the Texas Invitational … clocked a top-15 finish at the Chile Pepper Festival … finished 25th at the Big 12 Championships … raced for the Longhorns in the South Central Regional and NCAA Championships.
HIGH SCHOOL: Competed at the Nike Cross Nationals in 2017 and 2018 … competed at the Foot Locker Nationals in 2018 … named the Rio Grande Valley Cross Country Male Athlete of the Year on two occasions … also named the Rio Grande Valley Track and Field Male Athlete of the Year once … was a four-time MVP of the cross country team and a four-time selection for the track and field team at PSJA Memorial.
PERSONAL: Son of Laura and Cruz Gomez … has one brother, Dominick, and three sisters, Laura, Camelya and Chriz … lettered in cross country and track four times, as well as once in soccer in high school … graduated in the top-10 percent of his class and received distinguished level of achievement with collegiate honors recognition … is a first-generation student-athlete in his family … majoring in applied movement science … wants to become a collegiate cross country/track and field coach.
