PRIOR TO TEXAS
• Three-year letterwinner at Whitehouse High in track and field under coach Brad Cook where she competed in the 400m, 800m an 4x400m relay
• Served as captain of her team all three years
• Finished her senior season ranked eighth in the state in UIL 4A in the 800m
• Placed third in Region 2-4A in the 800m the same year with a personal-best time of 2:16 and was a regional qualifier in the 400m as a junior.

• Mother competed in karate at University of Louisiana-Monroe from 1986-1989
• Has two siblings, Casey (24) and JC (6)
• Selected UT for its College of Natural Science and freshman research initiative
• Graduated third in her class at Whitehouse High, where she was involved in National Honor Society, Health Occupation Students of America, Students for Jesus and Business Professionals of America
• Member of the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll (fall 2013)
• Majoring in biology
