2021-22 (Grad)
OUTDOOR: Broke Ryan Crouser’s Texas outdoor shot put record with a throw of 21.54m (70-8) and broke the Texas Relays record with the throw to win the event… The throw also gave him USTFCCCA National Player of the Week honors… Won the shot put event with a throw of 21.53m - one centimeter off from his record-breaking throw at Texas Relays - in the dual meet against Texas A&M to set a new facility record.... Competed in the elite pro section in the shot put at the Mt. SAC Relays and finished fourth with a throw of 21.52m (70-7.25), the seventh-straight meet throwing over 70 ft... Won the shot put at the LSU Invitational with a throw of 21.21m (69-7), throwing over 21 meters the last eight meets… Became a nine-time Big 12 shot put champion with a throw of 21.28m at Outdoors… Qualified for NCAAs in shot put winning the west region with a throw of 20.74m…. Claimed his second NCAA Outdoor shot put title with a throw of 21.52m... Made Team USA at the USA Championships, qualifying for worlds with a fourth-place finish and throw of 21.43m... Finished eighth in the world in the shot put at the 2022 World Championships representing USA with a throw of 20.93m.
INDOOR: Opened the indoor season winning the shot put event with a mark of 20.71m (67'11.5"), the second-best throw in the NCAA... Improved his season-best throw to 20.99m (68'10.5") to win at the Red Raider Open, improving his mark at No. 2 in the NCAA... Won the shot put with a NCAA-leading and then-world leading throw of 21.45m at the New Mexico Collegiate Invite... Remained undefeated during the season in the shot put after a win at the Tiger Paw Invite with a throw of 21.44m... Put on another performance at the Big 12 Championships, winning his eighth shot put title with a final throw of 21.40m (70-2.50)... Was the 2022 NCAA runner-up in shot put with a season-best throw of 21.58m and helped Texas win its first ever NCAA team title.
2020-21 (Senior):
OUTDOOR: Competed in three outdoor meets... Began the season at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships where he won shot put with a mark of 19.80m/64'11.5"... Was the runner-up at the NCAA Outdoor Championships with his mark of 20.71m/67'11.5".
INDOOR: Competed in six indoor meets and won five shot put events... Won shot put at the Texas Tech Corky Classic with his mark of 20.61m/67'7.5"... Won the Wooo Pig Classic with a season-best 21.12m/69'3.5" mark in shot... Set a personal-best mark of 21.74m/71'4" at the Charlie Thomas Invitational... Won the Tyson Invitational event at 21.20m/69'6.75"... Was the Big 12 shot put Champion with his mark of 21.00m/68'10.75"... Finished 14th at the NCAA Indoor Championships with his mark of 18.84m/61'9.75".
2019-20 (Junior)
OUTDOOR: 2020 season canceled due to COVID-19 pandemic.
INDOOR: Threw the shot put in four meets … improved his mark in each meet after opening with a 19.95m/65-5.5 effort at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Collegiate Invitational … placed third at that meet … upped his effort to 20.20m/66-3.25 and a victory at the Razorback Invitational … took the NCAA lead with a 20.83m/68-4.25 mark at the Tiger Paw Invitational over Valentine’s Day weekend … won his fifth Big 12 shot put title, and third-straight indoors, with a 20.98m/68-10 effort at the Big 12 Championships … matched his indoor personal best, solidifying his standing as the second-best indoor shot putter in school history … joined Dana LeDuc (1974-76) and Ryan Crouser (2012, 2014-16) as the only Texas men to win the conference shot put title indoors on at least three occasions … his personal-best mark finished ranked No. 2 in the NCAA in 2020, earning him USTFCCCA All-America honors for the fifth time in his career during the pandemic-shortened season … all five All-America honors have come in the shot put.
2018-19 (Sophomore)
OUTDOOR: Won the NCAA shot put title, his first career national title, with a lifetime-best throw of 21.11m/69-3.25 at the NCAA Outdoor Championships … Texas’ second national shot put champion in the last six seasons (Ryan Crouser) … solidified him as the second-best shot put performer in Texas history … also won the shot put at the National Relay Championships, Big 12 Championships and NCAA West Region Preliminaries … surpassed the 21-meter mark (21.01/68-11.25) for the first time at the Beach Invitational … took second in the shot put at the Texas Relays.
INDOOR: Opened his season with a shot put victory at the Ted Nelson Invitational … finished runner-up in the shot put at the Clemson Invitational and Texas Tech Shootout … picked up victories at the Charlie Thomas Invitational and Big 12 Championships … launched the orb 20.98m/68-10 to finish second in the shot put at the NCAA Indoor Championships.
2017-18 (Freshman)
OUTDOOR: Won the shot put at the USATF Junior Outdoor Championships to qualify for the IAAF U20 World Championships … finished fourth at the NCAA Championships with a personal-best throw of 20.41m/66-11.5 … won the NCAA West Preliminaries matching his personal-best mark … qualified for the Big 12 Championships in the shot put and discus … won the shot put title … also picked up shot put victories at the Texas Relays, Texas Invitational and Michael Johnson Invitational.
INDOOR: Made his collegiate debut at the Clemson Opener on Dec. 7 … took second in the shot put at 18.44m/60-6 … upped his mark by more than a full meter to 19.50m/63-11.75 and won the shot put at the Corky Classic in January … was victorious in his next four shot put competitions, concluding the run with his first Big 12 title … finished seventh at the NCAA Championships.
HIGH SCHOOL: Signed with Texas out of The Woodlands High School … was one of the nation’s top-ranked throwers … slotted No. 2 in the shot put and No. 5 in the discus among the 2017 class .. ranked No. 1 in his class until the IAAF World Junior Championships, where he finished fifth for Team USA … was one of two recruits nationally to rank in the top five in the shot put and discus … has a personal-best throw of 73-5.25, which ranks him No. 8 on the all-time U.S. high school list.
PERSONAL: Son of Adrian and Elizabeth Piperi … father, Adrian, played football at Houston … has one brother, Patrick, and one sister, Lillie … Patrick is also a thrower at Texas.
