Played in all 27 matches and 98 sets during the season…posted 22 assists and was fourth on the team with 17 service aces…finished third on the team with 177 digs (1.81 per set)…recorded career-high 20 digs in the win against Auburn (11/15)…had four matches with 10-plus digs in the season.
2023
Played in all 32 matches and 114 sets during the 2023 season…finished third on the team with 33 service aces…was fifth on the team with 174 digs (1.53 per set)…also finished third on the team with 66 assists…posted a season-high five aces in the win over Texas Tech (11/25)…had double-digit aces in seven matches…recorded a season-high 13 digs in the five-set win at TCU…had four double-digit dig matches…season-high of six assists came in the NCAA Regional Semifinal win over Tennessee.
2022
Played in all 29 matches and 98 sets during the 2022 season...finished second on the team with 34 service aces...served an ace on championship point against Louisville to clinch the national title...ranked third on the team with 170 digs and a .947 reception percentage (min 10 total attempts)...dished out a career-high 35 assists for the season...tied her career-high service aces against Fairleigh Dickinson (12/1) in the NCAA First Round with seven aces...put up a season-high 14 digs at Kansas State (10/28).
PRIOR TO TEXAS (NEBRASKA)
Played in 53 career matches in two seasons from 2020-21 at Nebraska…helped team to national runner-up finish in 2021…as a sophomore in 2021, appeared in all 34 matches, averaging 2.54 digs and 0.35 aces per set…finished with double-figure digs in 19 matches…had eight multi-ace performances…ranked seventh in the Big Ten for aces per set…played in all 19 matches as a freshman defensive specialist…averaged 2.41 digs per set and 0.32 service aces per set…served the second-most aces on the team, 21, and had the third-most digs (159).
HIGH SCHOOL
As an outside hitter for Kamehameha Kapalama High School in Honolulu, Akana was named the Honolulu Star-Advertiser Player of the Year, first-team All-Hawaii and the All-Hawaii Girls Player of the Year…totaled 378 kills and 403 digs as a senior and had 22 kills in the state title match to lead Kamehameha to a state championship for the second time…was named the state tournament's most outstanding player…also named a 2019 MaxPreps second-team All-American.
