"We are beyond excited to add Cursty to our coaching staff," Elliott said. "She brings a wealth of experience at the collegiate and international level. She cares about empowering young women and has a large presence because of the values she believes in for herself and her family."
Le Roux comes to Texas after spending the 2022 season as an assistant coach at Long Beach State, where the Beach recorded a 19-9 overall record and finished third in the Big West standings with a 14-6 league mark.
Following her stint with Long Beach State, Le Roux joined up with USA Volleyball to serve as an assistant coach for the U19 Girls National Team at the 2023 U19 NORCECA Pan American Cup. The team went on to win the Pan American Cup without dropping a set in the tournament.
"It's such an honor to join a program with a deep history of excellence," Le Roux said. "Several of my favorite former teammates played at Texas and embody high character and special grit. I am excited to learn from the best and mentor and guide these young women on and off the court. It's a dream come true to be a part of the defending National Championship family and have support like no other from the best fans In the nation."
Le Roux spent the 2021 season as an assistant coach at UNLV where she helped the Rebels capture the NIVC Championship as they finished the year with a 28-9 overall record. With Athletes Unlimited, Le Roux helped recruit players for the first professional women's indoor volleyball league in the United States. She helped create policies and regulations for both players and staff pertaining to injuries, pregnancies, and COVID-19 protocols. She also assisted with initiatives directed toward player accommodations for housing, training, and childcare.
Le Roux played professionally in Europe and Asia over eight seasons for Quimper Volley 29 in France, Rabita Baku in Azerbaijan, Dresdner SC 1898 in Germany, Galatasaray Daikin in Turkey, and Hitachi Rivale in Japan.
Additionally, Le Roux was a member of the U.S. Women's National Team from 2012-17 where she competed at the 2015 Pan America Cup in Lima, Peru, the FIVB World Grand Prix in Omaha, Neb., and the Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada. She was also on the 2013 squad that took Silver at the FIVB World Grand Champions Cup in Tokyo, Japan.
Le Roux played her first two seasons of collegiate volleyball at UNLV before transferring to Arizona. While at UNLV, she was named 2008 Mountain West Freshman of the Year and selected to the all-conference team in 2009. In her two years with the Rebels, Le Roux finished her career with 535 kills and 178 total blocks.
