USA Baseball advances to Pan Am Games gold medal round

Texas Baseball standout Jordan Danks advanced to the Pan American Games gold medal contest with a pair of wins over Brazil on Wednesday. USA Baseball takes on Cuba in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on Friday.
Danks, one of only three players to appear in all 20 games for Team USA this summer, is leading the squad with six runs scored in the four contests at the Pan American Games. He scored two runs each in Team USA wins over the Dominican Republic (5-1), Nicaragua (8-4) and Brazil (7-5).
In 20 games this summer with Team USA, Danks leads the squad with 19 runs scored and ranks second in stolen bases (5) and walks (14).
Danks, an All-Big 12 Conference Honorable Mention selection in 2007, led Texas with 17 doubles, 46 walks and a 1.000 fielding percentage on the season. He ranked second on the squad with 63 runs scored and 19 stolen bases. The sophomore played in all 63 games of UT's games, including 62 starts. He hit .332 with four home runs and 38 RBI on the season.
