Women's Golf defeats Texas State in 18-hole stroke play event

AUSTIN, Texas -- Texas senior Julia Best shot a two-under 70 to lead the Longhorns in a 14-stroke victory over Texas State Saturday in an 18-hole stroke play event at The University of Texas Golf Club.
Texas finished with a six-over 294 on the day, while Texas State finished with a 20-over 308. UT senior Ashley Rollins and junior Kristin Walla each carded a two-over 74 on the day, and junior Caney Hines fired a four-over 76. Sophomore Shannon Fish added an eight-over 80 on the afternoon.
Texas resumes competition on Monday, April 7 at the Indiana Invitational in Carmel, Ind.
