SORRENTO, Fla. -- University of Texas senior Kelley Louth (69-73-72) carded an even-par 72 in the final round of the UCF Challenge to finish in a team-best tie for 10th place at 2-under 214. As a team, the Longhorns (291-297-299) finished in 15th place at 23-over 887.
Louth played a nearly-perfect final round, as she made pars on 16 holes. A lone birdie on the par-4, 338-yard 13th hole of the RedTail Golf Club was counteracted by an ensuing bogey on the 14th hole.
Freshman Nicole Vandermade (75-74-72) finished the tournament tied for 43rd place at 5-over 221. Vandermade saved her lowest round of the tournament for the finale, improving four places on the leaderboard after 36 holes. Like Louth, Vandermade recorded a steady scorecard despite succumbing to a double bogey on the 17th hole - her eighth of the day - before making birdies on holes five and eight to finish at even.
Junior Shannon Fish (75-75-81) finished tied for 61st at 11-over 227, and senior Caney Hines (73-75-81) was two strokes back at 229 and tied for 74th. Senior Kristin Walla (74-83-78) rounded out the Longhorns in a tie for 79th place at 19-over 235.
UCLA (282-287-281) shot a tournament-low 281 in the final round to finish atop the team standings at 14-under 850, seven strokes ahead of runner-up Arizona State (284-284-289=857, -7). The Bruins' Stephanie Kono (71-71-66) also took home medalist honors with an 8-under 208.
The Longhorns will return to Austin to host the 36th annual Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational March 20-22 at The UT Golf Club.

POST-TOURNAMENT QUOTES
Head Coach Martha Richards
On the team's overall performance: This was the most impressed I've been with our focus for an entire tournament in my career at Texas. The field at this tournament was NCAA Championship-caliber. Our effort, focus and competitiveness were spot on for three days, and we're going to keep building on this. To see how close we played to the sixth- (Alabama) and 10th-ranked (Duke) teams was a taste of confidence for us. At the same time, it shows us how much we still need to improve.
On the play of senior Kelley Louth: Kelley was steady all three days. She did a great job of taking care of business, and that all began with her co-medalist honor against Texas State (March 1). Her focus has been incredible over the last four competitive rounds.
