SORRENTO, Fla. -- University of Texas senior Kelley Louth (69-73=142, -2) continues to lead the Longhorns after 36 holes at the UCF Challenge, as she fired a team-low 1-over-par 73 in the second round. Louth is tied for 12th place at 2-under 142, while the Longhorns are tied for ninth place in the 18-team field at 12-over 588 (291-297).
Louth made the turn on the RedTail Golf Club at 3-over after succumbing to a double bogey on the third hole and a bogey on the eighth. Over the next six holes, Louth dropped back to even by carding back-to-back birdies on the 11th and 12th holes and another subpar on the 15th. A final bogey on the par-4 18th hole cost Louth her even round.
Senior Caney Hines (73-75=148) is tied for 43rd at 4-over 148, and freshman Nicole Vandermade (75-74=149) is one stroke back at 5-over 149 and tied for 47th. Junior Shannon Fish is also within two strokes of Hines and Vandermade at 6-over 150 and tied for 55th. Senior Kristin Walla (74-83=157, +13) rounds out the Longhorns and is tied for 83rd.
Arizona State (284-284=568, -8) carded its second-consecutive 4-under 284 to take a one-stroke lead over UCLA (282-287=569, -7) on the team leaderboard. Oklahoma State (286-289=575, -1) is in third place at 1-under 575.
