STILLWATER, Okla. -- The No. 9 Texas Longhorns were only able to muster one run on four hits and fell to the No. 17 Oklahoma State Cowboys in Big 12 Conference baseball action at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The loss evened the series at 1-1.
Texas (19-8, 5-6 Big 12) connected with the first punch in the top of the fourth inning. With two outs, Cameron Rupp drew a walk and scored on a wall-banging double to the left centerfield gap by Tant Shepherd.
The Cowboys responded with three runs in the bottom half of the fourth. Dean Green knotted the game with a lead-off home run to right centerfield. With one out, Tom Belza doubled to the gap in left centerfield and Eric Walker hit a two-run home run to leftfield to stake Oklahoma State to a 3-1 lead.
Oklahoma State (21-9, 4-4 Big 12) tacked on a run in the fifth with an RBI single by Green and added three unearned runs in the seventh after the third out was not recorded due to a passed ball and error on a third strike pitch to Doug Kroll.
Brandon Workman (3-3) was saddled with the loss for Texas. He allowed three runs on five hits and one walk while striking out two over 3.2 innings.
Tyler Blandford (6-0) was branded with the W for Oklahoma State. He allowed one run, scattering two hits and five walks while striking out five over 7.1 innings.
Tyrone Hambly, Walker and Rafael Thomas rode point for the Cowboys' offense with two RBI apiece.
