Dubreuil leads Women's Golf at Central District Invitational

PARRISH, Fla. -- University of Texas freshman Desiree Dubreuil (76-69) fired a career-best 2-under-par 69 in the second round of the Central District Invitational and is tied for seventh place at 1-over 145 after 36 holes. As a team, the Longhorns (304-302) are in ninth place in their second outing of the spring season with a two-round score of 606 (+30).
Dubreuil shaved seven strokes off of her opening round 76 on Monday afternoon to pace Texas on the par-72, 6,069-yard River Wilderness Golf Club. Dubreuil carded five birdies and just two bogeys en route to her career-best round.
Freshman Madison Pressel (77-76) and sophomore Nicole Vandermade (76-77) are tied for 40th place at 9-over 153. Freshman Haley Stephens (75-80) is two strokes behind and tied for 49th with an 11-over 155. Freshman Katelyn Sepmoree (77-81) rounds out the Longhorns at 14-over 158 and in 66th place.
Stephens led UT in the morning's opening round with a 3-over 75. Beginning on the 12th hole, Stephens' scorecard included two birdies on her first eight holes, a double bogey on her 11th hole - the par-5, 480-yard fourth hole - and three bogeys over her final six.
Florida (290-281) leads the 15-team field at 5-under 571. Second-place TCU is 20 strokes behind at 15-over 591, while Arkansas (303-293) stands in third at 20-over 596.
Arkansas' Kelli Shean (71-69) leads all individuals at 4-under 140. Florida's Isabelle Lendl (74-67) trails by one stroke at 141. TCU's Valentine Derrey (68-74) and Florida's Marika Lendl (72-70) are tied for third place at 2-under 142.
Tuesday's final round of the Central District Invitational will begin at 7 a.m. Central with a shotgun start. Live scoring is available on GolfStat.com.
