Flintco, Inc. -- the construction company responsible for recent upgrades to the Red & Charline McCombs Softball complex -- has been awarded for its work by the Associated Building Contractors organization.
To acknowledge the effort, the Texas Softball team has invited a Flintco representative to throw out the ceremonial first pitch when the Longhorns take on Texas State on Wednesday, March 31 at 6:30 p.m.
According to Dave Murphy, who served as Project Manager for the softball facility upgrades, Flintco was notified that it had received an award from the ABC in the category of "Construction Project; Less than $2 Million."
Upgrades performed by the construction company include a covered practice area, which features three movable hitting bays as well as an additional area for further skill development. Technical upgrades include wireless capabilities that allow coaches to simultaneously record and analyze swing and throwing motions for their players.
