No. 8 Volleyball earns 3-0 road sweep at Oklahoma

NORMAN, Okla. -- Haley Eckerman and Bailey Webster had 11 kills each as the No. 8 Texas Longhorns swept the Oklahoma Sooners (25-23, 25-10, 25-8) in a Big 12 match. Texas hit .571 as a team, registering only two hitting errors the entire match, for the second-highest hitting percentage during a match in UT school history.
Texas (18-3, 10-0) has now won 12 straight matches, dating back to September 15.
Eckerman hit .478 (11-0-23) for the Longhorns while Webster hit .450 (11-2-20). Junior setter Hannah Allison had 36 assists with three kills, eight digs and three blocks while Khat Bell had eight kills and hit .889 (8-0-9) with five blocks. Texas out-blocked Oklahoma by a 9-0 margin.
Neither team built a large lead in the first set as Dunn's ace gave the Sooners a 20-18 lead. Dunn's kill from the back row made it 23-22 before Eckerman tied it at 23-23. Webster then went back-to-back terminations as the Longhorns took the first set.
After building a 10-7 lead in the second set, the Longhorns made it a 2-0 lead in the match with a scorching 15-3 run as Texas hit .905 (19-0-21) in set two. Texas opened the third set with a 7-0 run and would hold leads in the set of 11-2, 15-4 and 23-7.

Notes: The Texas school record for hitting percentage in a match is .590, set against Rice on November 1, 1982...the 41 combined points in the match by Oklahoma were the fewest allowed by Texas in the series since the start of rally scoring in 2001...the previous low allowed by Texas in the Oklahoma series were 42 points, set this season on Sept. 22 in Gregory Gym...Texas is now 40-3 all-time against Oklahoma in volleyball.
